Disney Just the Two of Us

We just got back from a 3 day whirlwind trip to Disney. While it was SO fast and we crammed so much into those 3 days, it was really nice to get away and just be together. The warm weather and great food didn’t hurt either.

We did two parks a day for 3 days. Epcot & Magic Kingdom, the 2 Universal parks and then Animal Kingdom & Hollywood Studios. By the last day I think we were both totally burnt out, but we had such a great time. The Harry Potter section of Islands of Adventure was amazing. I hadn’t been on roller coasters in so long and the rides have just really come a long way. Things like the Spiderman and Mummy rides were just incredible.

Being around so many kids and families made us realize how the trip would be different if we had kids. We would’ve moved much slower, the itinerary would be different, things would just have a different feel to them, but it also made us realize that the differences would be fun. It was nice to have time for ourselves to relax after everything. It gave us both a chance to get out of the house, away from the internet and dangers of too-much-information and forced us to just HAVE FUN. We didn’t have to talk about our plans or what we were worried about, we could just read, go on rides, eat yummy food, hold hands and go to bed early like the old people we really are.

I think it was good for both of us to have a break from this stuff. Since we found out in September it’s been a long stream of appointments, tests, appointments, phone calls, health insurance, appointments, surgery..it went from normal life to life on fast-forward very quickly and it was nice to take a step out of that for a moment and pull it together. Of course, we’re getting right back into it when we finally go back to the RE next Monday, but for now, things are a little more normal.

Maybe I’ll even start writing about more things than just our infertility stuff. I like pop culture! We eat out around Boston a lot! I think I can maybe pull it together and start expanding this blog to other topics.

It’s not like anyone’s actually reading this anyway 🙂 I can do what I want!
